Background

In 2015 it was decided that BTO should start managing clinical studies on behalf of Haukeland University Hospital. The clinical studies had until then been handled by Innovest.

By acquiring Innovest, BTO gains 19 years of experience in managing clinical studies, current knowhow, a solid team of researchers at the hospital, and a widespread network of industry collaborators within pharmaceuticals, medical devices and CRO organisations.

In practice, customers will meet the same personnel and competence at BTO as provided by Innovest AS. BTO will be responsible for preparing the clinical study agreements, including budgeting, with the hospital departments.

The administrative work related to the financial part of the agreements will be prolonged. Separate research accounts will be established for each project at BTO.

This acquisition enables BTO to support researchers and their teams at any stage of their research work, creating a «one-contact point» structure for researchers. BTO will maintain Innovest’s professionalism combined with flexibility and hands-on delivery, in the transition from a small organisation into a larger structure.
