BerGenBio AS
BerGenBio was established on December 21st 2007 by two researchers at the Department of Biomedicine, University of Bergen, in cooperation with BTO and Unifob AS. The purpose of the company is research and development within the field of biotechnology, with focus on new pharmaceutical therapautica. The BerGenBio team consists of professor Jim Lorens (VP Business development), Dr. David Micklem (Chief Scientific Officer), Dr. Tone Sandal (VP Research Services), and Richard Godfrey (Chief Executive Officer).
BerGenBio has developed an innovative RNAi technology for drug target validation and high throughoutput discovery. The patented technology called CellSelectRNAi is based on a functional genetics approach where cells directly reveal the target rather than by development of generic and imperfect algoritms. This technology will significantly reduce the time and cost associated with new drug discovery.
BerGenBio AS provides a flexible professional contract research service offering a fully integrated suite of tools to support your drug target discovery and development needs. Available proprietary technologies include CellSelectRNAi, CellSelectImaging and CellSelectScreening.
BerGenBio AS is also developing a pipeline of novel validated targets and therapeutics, which maybe further developed in joint ventures with collaborators our out licensed.
