Hammertech AS
Invention
In order to maintain the high energy demands in our society today, oil and gas companies have to look for better production techniques to better utilise and increase the oil and gas extraction process. Hammertech is supposed to be a niche company that will offer innovative solutions to some of these issues. Hammertech AS will provide oil&gas companies with Flow Measurement solutions topside, subsea and down hole. The products are based on a new technology, the High Magnetic Field Detection System, in order to optimize the separation process and measure pipeflows. The products portfolio possess great advantages compared to existing methods and comprise:
Level Profiler
Is used to measure levels of oil, gas, water, emulsion and foam in the separation tank. The profiler can be used on the separation tanks placed subsea or on the oil platform.
Water Fraction Meter
A metering solution that can be applied on the oil or gas pipes. It measures the fraction of the water in oil/gas/water mixture. The advantage of this measuring principle is that it can be used both in the oil continuous phases and the water continuous phases.
Applications
Oil & Gas industry – extraction and separation processes.
Advantages
Level Profiler
– Measure level of fluids, emulsions, foam and gases in separation tanks.
– High accuracy, robust and reliable
– Environmental fiendly, no hazardous components
– Full real time information under 2 sec
– Inflatable scaling cracker
– Optimisation of chemical additives
– To be interfaced with existing control systems
Water Fraction Meter
– Simple construction, robust, reliable.
– Measure the content of water in oil/water/gas-mixtures
– High accuracy down to 100ppm
- Give the conductivity of the water
– Can measure the water content independent of oil/gas fractions
– To be used both in water continuous and oil continuous phases
– Environmental friendly, no hazardous components
– The instrument is to be flanged to the pipeline
Technology
All Hammertech’s products are based on the same principle, High Frequency Electromagnetic Field Technique, a method developed by Prof. Erling Hammer and Department of Physics and Technology (UiB). The technology can be used in any industry depending on reliable and accurate measurement of fluids and gases. The initial focus is on flow and level measurements in the oil and gas industry.
