Medical doctors at Haukeland University Hospital have developed a new and unique software within EEG diagnostics – SCORE EEG. It is the first software within this field to be based on the new international standard SCORE (Standardised Computer-based Organised Reporting of EEG). This new innovation is available through Holberg EEG AS, offering two products: SCORE Free and SCORE Advanced. The two products will make it possible to describe EEG studies in a way that ensures better quality of the assessments, better communication of results to referring physicians, and better opportunities for education and research. This will lead to better diagnosis and therefore better treatment of patients. The workload for users of the EEG will be the same as with normal manual method, but total costs will be reduced.

Technology
The SCORE EEG software is a Windows desktop application, using Windows Presentation Foundation under Net 3.5 and a SQL 2008 database. The software can be integrated with EEG readers and patient record file systems using plugin technology. There are two great innovations in the SCORE software. First, a report generator ensures clear and consistent EEG description and thus enhances the efficiency and quality of patient treatment. Second, the automatic update of a database simultaneously with the EEG description provides a unique searchable database of EEG findings for clinical, educational, and scientific use. Anonymized data are automatically transferred to a joint international database.
